Neptune is the eighth, sometimes ninth planet from the sun. The planet has a watery-blue quality when shown in pictures, giving one the impression that it covered in oceans. Thus, the planet was given the name neptune, after the Roman God of the sea. Neptune is one of the gas giants and it's composition is mainly gases, with a small rocky core about the size of Earth.

Neptune has rings, similar to those of Jupiter and Uranus. The rings are named Adam, Galatea, Leverrier, and Galle. Adams has three sub parts called Liberty, Fraternity, and Equality. Leverrier has two extentions called Lasell and Arago. The composition of the Rings is unknown.

Neptune's most prominent feature is the "Great Dark Spot." This is a dark blue spot formed by the winds on the planet.
